PaulsJusticePage is an ongoing project of
Dr Paul Leighton, who is also webmaster for StopViolence: Resources for A
Just Peace - a website he developed with his students. At present, all costs associated with domain name registration, hosting, etc for
both sites are
underwritten by Paul. Your help would be appreciated in making these
websites self-supporting and able to develop more in the
future.
Any contributions you make though this page will
first be used to offset the costs of registering the domain name paying Hostway.com for hosting this page. Together,
these fees amount to about $15 month.
A
Computer Security Tip, just for checking out
this page: To make sure CDs with personal information can never be
read by anyone, microwave them for 5-10 seconds - long enough to
vaporize the metal (which holds the data) but not long enough to
stink up your microwave. [200k wallpaper sized

I'm happy to pay that because Hostway
has 99%+ uptime (I haven't had anyone tell me the site was
unavailable); they are reasonably priced, scalable, and have a handy online
manual. Their SiteControl works well, and the few times I've had to write
them, they have had a helpful response in 24-36 hours. They have
received awards from CNET and many other sites for their hosting service
- please check them out if you're in the market and sign up through the
link on this page.
Contributions over and above the recurring fees
will be used for various upgrades and expansions. The scrolling
navigation menu, for example was a $20 piece of software, and I'd like
to purchase something that checks for dead links. Also, I would like to
make this site more interactive, so visitors could suggest links, rate
links, take polls, or have a bulletin board. I'd like to find out from
the visitors how to make the site more useful to them and implement
those ideas. However, this expansion requires some computer skills that
are beyond me at the moment, and your contributions would help me hire
students with a more technical background. There are also several pages
I would like to develop but would require some help because of my other
commitments.
